Event Details

Our ocean swims take place throughout the year and are guided by experienced coaches and/or lifeguards.

Each swim is approximately a mile (1.6km) in length, depending on conditions.

Attendees must be able to swim a mile and must have recent experience swimming in cold water.


Safety and teamwork are priority, and no swimmer will be left behind. Come join for a fun ocean adventure!


See the swim schedule for the week below under "Agenda", and book for the days you plan to attend.


Members of Cape Town Open Water Swim Co. have complimentary access to all swims.

Swim Pods Guests can either sign up for a single session, or for the week.


What to bring:

  • Swimming costume
  • Swimming cap
  • Goggles
  • Tow float (compulsory for Blouberg and False Bay)
  • Wetsuits are optional


Please meet at the relevant swim meeting point, ready to swim 10 minutes before the swim start.

    Guided mile group swim. Meet on the left side of Clifton 4th Beach, in front of the outdoor showers. Please take care of your own belongings, keep keys in a dry bag or tow float.

    07:30 - 08:30Tuesday Swim at Kleinbaai Blouberg (for experienced swimmers)
    Guided mile group swim. Meet in the parking lot in front of Ons Huisie Restaurant in Kleinbaai, Blouberg.

    17:00 - 18:00Wednesday Swim at Clifton 4th Beach
