The demand and public interest in affordable housing is growing in South Carolina, and people are ready to take an active role. Come to this interactive training to see what affordable housing looks like and to understand the basics in affordable housing development. Participants will take a bus tour to multiple projects developed by Homeless No More and SC UpLift Community Outreach in Columbia, SC.

Following the in-person bus tour, panelists will introduce participants to the various components of affordable housing development: cost, timeline, organizational financial capacity, partnerships, financing, development, common misconceptions, and more. This training is geared towards beginners, organizations interested in becoming an affordable housing developer, and funders and elected officials who want to understand all that is involved to develop affordable housing.
