Despite progress made to address the global concerns regarding gender diversity and inclusivity in social and professional life, many industries still have a long way to go. In male-dominated industries, particularly in STEM-based industries, and in leadership across multiple sectors, women face unique challenges that can hinder their progress and limit their potential.

In recent years and with greater recognition that men and women have different needs and each plays unique roles, the conversation is more suitably evolving from "gender equality" to "gender equity", to ensure that while the issues that create the gender imbalance are addressed, we stay mindful and respectful of the uniqueness of each gender.
