This one-day course provides essential training for airport personnel involved in wildlife management, as required by Transport Canada. The course ensures compliance with Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) and equips participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to develop, implement, and assess wildlife management plans. Training includes classroom lectures, group discussions, and hands-on exercises, culminating in a certificate upon completion.

    Gary Colwell

    Gary Colwell is a highly experienced Airport Manager with a 38-year career dedicated to
    aviation safety and operations. His journey in the field began as a civilian pilot and
    Navigation Officer with the Civil Air Search & Rescue Association (CASARA) and 424
    Squadron Search and Rescue, where he accumulated 15 years of flying experience.
    Transitioning into airport safety, Gary spent six years as an Airside Safety Officer with
    the Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA), ensuring regulatory compliance and
    enforcing safety protocols. He later took on the role of Safety Management System
    (SMS) Officer, where he played a key role in designing, implementing, and managing
    GTAA’s SMS framework while also training personnel on its principles.
    His expertise in safety systems led him to Toronto Downsview Airport, where he served
    as Chief of Airport SMS for Bombardier Aerospace. In this role, he managed the
    airport’s SMS in alignment with Transport Canada regulations and continuously
    improved safety processes. He later brought his knowledge to Billy Bishop Toronto City
    Airport, where he worked as a Safety Management & Regulatory Officer.
    With a deep understanding of Transport Canada regulations, program development,
    and safety training, Gary has built a career centered on enhancing aviation safety and
    regulatory compliance.
