Sebrina Brown Owner at Girlfriends Tea Sebrina Brown retired from the United States Postal Service in May 2019 after 35 years of service. During her career, she coordinated internal and external events, wrote event speeches for senior leadership, conducted media interviews, and wrote press releases. She also has experience in customer service, public relations, and training. As a certified master and national field trainer, Sebrina was a sought-after speaker at local customer events. She graduated from Virginia Wesleyan University with a bachelor’s in business administration and is currently pursuing her master’s in ministry at Virginia Bible College. She continues in her passion for public speaking by way of her virtual talk show, Girlfriends Tea, where women are informed about an array of topics while sipping on their favorite cup of tea. This year, Sebrina launched her own luxury tea line called Girlfriends Tea. Miss Brown recently joined the Stop Abuse Board. Additionally, she is an active member of Calvary Revival Church where she has served in ministry for 23 years. Her passion is cheerleading for others.

She leads a team responsible for devising and executing strategies that advance Cox’s community, employee communications, media and government interests in the region. Prior to joining Cox, she was the Vice President of Public Policy & Government Affairs for Verizon Communications where she was the leading advocate before Congress and several government agencies on a variety of policy areas, including supplier diversity, public safety, cybersecurity and network resiliency. Active in numerous civic and business organizations, Nneka’s commitment to doing well and doing good leads her to serve on the Board of Directors for the Virginia Cable Telecommunications Association, Public Affairs Council, Dress for Success Washington DC, Virginia Public Access Project and the Virginia Beach Economic Development Authority. She’s received notable awards and recognitions. Among these, in 2019, she was named by the Washingtonian magazine as one of the Outstanding Women in Washington and was recognized by Engaging Black America for her commitment to diversity and inclusion. Stephenie Howard President/Assistant Professor at Communities in Power Stephenie Howard, PhD,LCSW(Licensed Clinical Social Worker) is the founder and president of Communities in Power, a local nonprofit organization committed to supporting and empowering Black communities through community outreach and development. She is also an assistant professor at Norfolk State University with the School of Social Work. She is a commissioner on the Social Services Advisory Commission for the Department of Human Services. She is a member of the Child Abuse and Neglect Advisory Committee for Family and Children’s Trust Fund (FACT) of Virginia and the Child Welfare Advisory Committee for the Virginia Department of Social Services. Her research area is trauma, particularly as related to family violence. She has authored numerous publications in social work in the areas of cultural competence, trauma, domestic violence, and child welfare. She has practice experience in domestic violence counseling and child protective services and teaching experience in undergraduate and graduate counseling and social work. She is a graduate of VCU, Norfolk State University, and Howard University. She is a longtime resident of Norfolk, VA
