Writing About Trauma and Grief for Kids

Join authors Linda Epstein and Ally Malinenko for a conversation about the importance of books that introduce kids to trauma, grief, and other hard discussion topics.

Each presenter will share a "difficult" scene from one of their books and talk about the experience of creating it. Participants will have a chance to write their own difficult scenes as part of the workshop. There will be time for questions at the end of the conversation.

Participants will leave with a list of mentor texts, from picture books through YA, that deal with trauma, grief, and other difficult topics.
