Manufacturer / Active membership is open to:

1. Eligibility for Active Membership: Any firm, corporation or branch of the same located in 

Canada, engaged directly in the manufacturing and/or marketing of pet food products for at 

least one calendar year prior to this application, must follow AAFCO model regulations,

must follow a recognized food safety program and by 2027 a 3rd party audit of the facility shall be

eligible for ACTIVE membership.

2. Participation: Membership shall be in the name of the firm or corporation. An Active Member 

in good standing is entitled to all rights and privileges of Association membership.

3. Annual Dues: Annual dues are based on sales of all cat and dog food manufactured in 

Canada or marketed or sold in Canada and all brands exported from Canada if 

manufacturing has occurred elsewhere than Canada, including all house brands, private 

label generic and co-packed products. Please indicate the annual dues that will be paid in 

accordance with the schedule below. All dues are subject to 13% Harmonized Sales Tax (HST). 

This tax applies to ALL COMPANIES seeking membership, whether Canadian-based, or 

otherwise.
