What is the GCM?
The Greek Community of Melbourne (GCM) is a non-for-profit member-based organisation.
Aiming to engage with all aspects of our members interests, the GCM runs a diverse and multifaced cultural program spanning a variety of disciplines including but not limited to The Antipodes Festival, The Greek Film Festival, and weekly free seminars.
The GCM also runs a comprehensive Education Program. Through our Language and Cultural School program, we run classes for students of all levels and ages in both Ancient and Modern Greek.
Benefits of becoming a GCM Member:
The GCM offers an abundant range of benefits to its members.
These benefits include:
1. Notifications of upcoming events and initiatives
2. Member discounts to Events and Cultural Projects such as Live at The Greek music nights, Greek Film Festival as well as many more.
3. Opportunities to get involved in community, such as involvement in Antipodes Festival, Greek Film Festival and/or culturally relevant programs.
Full membership entitlements (The right to vote at an election or General Meeting and stand as a candidate at an election) are only available to people over the age of 18 and your membership is only valid once approved by the Board of Management (you will receive notification of when this has been confirmed). Also, to partake in an election as a voter you must have been a member for at least six months and to nominate for the Board of Management at an election, you must have been a member of 12 months.
