About Us

Malaysia Institute for Supply Chain Innovation (MISI) was launched as a joint initiative between the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the government of Malaysia on March 22, 2011. MISI features Masters program in supply chain management and logistics. MISI is an independent, stand-alone degree granting academic institution established under the Malaysian law. Additionally, MISI conducts research and corporate outreach activities for global as well as local firms that operate in the Southeast Asia region.

MISI is a member of the MIT Global SCALE (Supply Chain and Logistics Excellence) Network. The MIT Global SCALE Network is an international alliance of leading edge research and educational organizations, dedicated to the development and dissemination of global innovation in supply chain and logistics. The MIT Global SCALE Network currently consist of 6 centers located in North America, Asia, Europe and South America.

Established to become the supply chain thought leader in region, the objectives of MISI can be viewed at multiple levels. At the highest level, MISI is aiming to pursue the same overarching objective as the SCALE Network of institutes that is to constantly redefine the state-of-the-art of supply chain management theory and practice. Specifically, the THREE integrated objectives of MISI are:

- deliver best-in-class Graduate and Executive Education Programs;
- conduct applied research that meets the highest international standards of academic rigor; and
- actively engage industry to create and disseminate cutting edge supply chain knowledge.
