The University of Michigan India Alumni Association (UMIAA) was formed in the year 2000 to develop and nurture a network of U-M alumni in India. The association serves as a platform for social, professional and academic exchange amongst alumni, as well as to represent the University of Michigan brand in India. UMIAA hosts numerous annual activities including representation at the academic fairs, alumni networking events, conferences and student mentoring.
The association is divided into four zones, North, South, East and West with a Vice President representing each zone. Today, there are over 3300+ members in UMIAA from various disciplines: Business, Engineering, Law, Health Services, Science, Arts, Education et al.
UMIAA members represent the Ross School of Business, College of Engineering, Rackham Graduate School, College of Literature, Science, and the Arts, The Law School, School of Education among other UM schools. The UMIAA welcomes new alumni to join its network. Our association has won the International Club of the Year award from the Ross School of Business two consecutive years in 2009 and 2010.
The University of Michigan India Alumni Association (UMIAA) is the officially recognized Alumni arm of the University of Michigan in India.
The objectives of the UMIAA are as follows:
1) Building the Michigan Brand for the University of the Michigan
2) Strengthening the University of Michigan Alumni network + facilitate networking among Alumni in India
3) Supporting the Admissions effort for the University
4) Promoting the University and its Schools and Colleges via the media in India
5) Building a network and raising funds for the UMIAA initiatives for the University of Michigan

Corporate Basic membership will include 2 emailers with logo and 1 email on company services/alumni update annually. Additionally logo sponsorship at a physical event. Alumni will get ticket for 1 person free at physical event.
