Dear Dear BritCham Supporter,
Navigating the weekly changes in lockdown, curfew, and travel restrictions across Cambodia has been difficult throughout April, but we are all hoping for good news in the coming weeks.
We see daily reports of the highly successful vaccination program rolling out across Phnom Penh and Kandal. As we write 6% of the population have now been fully vaccinated, 73k vaccines were administered yesterday alone. The target is to vaccinate all of Phnom Penh and Kandal by June.
It looks like May is going to be a busy month for Britcham Cambodia and our members as the country will start to open up again.
We wish you well,
The Britcham Team |

The idea is to create a safe space where Cambodians and foreigners working here can share and discuss the matter with peers from different industries, backgrounds, experiences - ultimately, learning from each other. We realized there is no such group for Cambodia but there is an underlying need based on our observations and collective experience. |

Developments in the Clean Energy Sector in Cambodia |
|
|
|
"In the last 20 years, Cambodia’s energy sector has seen rapid growth both in consumption and electrification of the country. At the end of 2019, 92.7% of households had a connection to the grid compared to only 22.9% in 2010. Despite the progress in the electrification of the country, there still remain many challenges to ensuring a consistent energy supply, keeping electricity rates affordable and increasing the amount of RE in the electricity mix." - Alex Jones
