GTCC's 60th Anniversary: Our 60 facts #12
During the first few months of the chamber, the daily work was temporarily handled in turn by members of the Executive Committee. They later planned to hire a part-time executive secretary, in agreement with the Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce (DIHT). Mr. Kurt von Laer accepted this position and become the chamber’s first Executive Director (1963-1971).

Corona pandemic and trade fairs
Since June 11, 2022, COVID-19 related entry restrictions to Germany are lifted. A proof of vaccination, proof of convalescence, proof of testing or proof of trade fair participation is no longer required to enter Germany. Citizens from countries with visa requirement who travel to Germany to visit a trade fair or exhibit need a business visa. Employees of exhibiting companies are exempt from the visa fee. More
