On the occasion of His Majesty the King of Malaysia's official birthday, the BMCC extends our warmest greetings to His Majesty Seri Paduka Baginda Yang Di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah Ibni Almarhum Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta'in Billah.
“Unity and togetherness in a society with diverse backgrounds is actually a recipe and strength in shaping national aspirations. It is a pillar of the nation’s prosperity and contributes to peace and stability,"
“Let us all pray that Malaysians and the country we love will continue to remain peaceful and prosperous, and always be under the protection of Allah from disasters and calamities,” Al-Sultan Abdullah said in his royal address in conjunction with His Majesty’s official birthday celebration.
Loyalty to the King and Country is the second Pillar of the National Principles (Rukun Negara). Generally, everyone knows the slogan "King and People Are Not Separated" as an expression that symbolises the close relationship between the palace and the people. His Majesty The Yang Di-Pertuan Agong functions as the nation’s sovereign umbrella that provides shelter, protection and justice to all the people regardless of their race, religion and political affiliations.
The Malaysian King is one of the few elected monarchs in the world. Since 1993, the full title in Malay has been, Seri Paduka Baginda Yang Di-Pertuan Agong. The consort of the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong is known as the Raja Permaisuri Agong. They are referred to in English as "His Majesty" and "Her Majesty". The Yang Di-Pertuan Agong’s official birthday is declared as a national holiday and this year the celebration falls on Monday, June 6, 2022.
The list of events in conjunction with His Majesty’s birthday:
- According to Istana Negara (‘the National Palace’), His Majesty’s official birthday celebration began with the recital of Yasin and doa selamat at the Federal Territory Mosque.
- On Friday, June 3, the Friday prayer and special sermon in conjunction with the King’s birthday took place at the Federal Territory Mosque in Kuala Lumpur.
