What a busy week we've had with our stakeholders!
The BMCC had a busy week engaging with Government stakeholders. We hope through these engagements, we can continue to support our members with the ease of doing business in Malaysia, promote public-private collaboration and innovation, and continue to position Malaysia as a preferred destination for trade and investment. |

A Courtesy Meeting with the Deputy Minister of Education Last week, the BMCC with member representatives from the BMCC Education Committee (3-18 Years) had the opportunity to converge with YB Lim Hui Ying, the Deputy Minister of Education and fellow senior officials at the Parliament building. We are thankful to YB Lim for taking time off her busy schedule to host the meeting and for giving us the opportunity to discuss potential collaborations between the Chamber and the Ministry, as part of BMCC's commitment to enhance Malaysia's position as an education hub in the region – a sector which Malaysia has made significant investments and improvements over the years. We hope our efforts would henceforth, contribute towards the nation's economy and talent development.
The BMCC delegation was co-led by Jennifer Lopez, BMCC CEO and Alan Stevens, Master of Marlborough College, Malaysia as well as a BMCC Board member and the Chair of the BMCC Education Committee. Others joining the delegation were senior representatives from Charterhouse Malaysia, Epsom College Malaysia, Parkcity Education, and the British High Commission Kuala Lumpur. |

Zooming into Malaysia's Economic Outlook and Post-Budget 2023 We were also honoured to have the Ministry of Finance's newly appointed Treasury Secretary General, The Honourable Datuk Johan Mahmood Merican as the keynote speaker at the BMCC Economic Outlook and Post-Budget 2023 webinar, organised in partnership with the CCIFM. We look forward to the follow-up meeting with Datuk Johan, to better understand the thinking behind Budget 2023 and how the Chamber can support to accelerate the efforts especially in talent development and FDI attraction. A big thank you to Datuk Johan and all our esteemed speakers from EY, BNP Paribas, and IPSOS for an interactive and informative session.

Levelling the Playing Field for Tech and Fintech Sectors Together with the British High Commission Kuala Lumpur and IDEAS Malaysia, we successfully held a Roundtable Discussion on Malaysian's Competitive Landscape in the Tech and Fintech Sectors. Thank you, industry experts from Arup, BAE System Applied Intelligence, DDX, Kagool, Mott MacDonald, PolyDigi Tech, and PwC Malaysia for sharing your insights. Our appreciation also goes to the British High Commission Kuala Lumpur and IDEAS for partnering on this timely and important initiative. Through the roundtable, we were able to hear views from the industry players on the challenges and limitations related to the competitive landscape in Malaysia as well as the types of support the ecosystem can offer to strive in the market. We hope to collectively work with relevant stakeholders to ensure Malaysia is an attractive growth market for tech and fintech sectors in the region.
