Toasting to 2020!

The customary BMCC New Year's Drink was held on 15th January at Auto Bavaria Kuala Lumpur, welcoming members back from the holidays and ushering in an exciting year of business ahead. Harald Hoelzl, Managing Director and CEO of BMW Malaysia Sdn Bhd said a few opening words before BMCC Chairman Andrew Sill gave his welcoming remarks to all members present. Upon this stage, Andrew announced that nominations was officially open for the BMCC's 3rd Annual Business Excellence Awards.

British High Commissioner H.E. Charles Hay then concluded the evening's formalities by toasting to 2020 with all 150 guests present, who went on to enjoy a lively evening of networking and refreshments. We thank everyone for joining us, with special appreciation to Auto Bavaria Kuala Lumpur for hosting our New Year's Drink. More images here

BMCC Energy Committee: BMCC & DIT Visit Key Stakeholders of Malaysian Oil & Gas Sector for Latest on Decommissioning

On 15 January 2020, BMCC facilitated a series of engagements between the Department for International Trade (DIT) and key stakeholders from the Malaysian Oil & Gas sector, particularly with parties involved in decommissioning. These parties included representatives from PETRONAS MPM Asset Decom, the Malaysian Oil & Gas Services Council (MOGSC) and BMCC's Energy Committee. The main objective of this visit was part of DIT's scoping exercise to gather the latest updates and better understand the opportunities and challenges regarding decommissioning in Malaysia and the wider ASEAN region.

BMCC also paid a courtesy visit to Wood Group, a fellow Sterling member where we met up with James Clements, Vice President Business Development Asia Pac. Wood provides performance-driven solutions throughout the asset life cycle, from concept to decommissioning across a broad range of industrial markets, including the upstream, midstream and downstream oil & gas, power & process, environment and infrastructure, clean energy, mining, nuclear, and general industrial sectors.
