Sunway Medical Centre: How to Wear a Mask

Follow these steps to ensure the right practices when wearing a medical mask. 

Step1: Wash your hands
Step 2: Check the medical mask for defects
Step 3: Orient the top of the mask properly
Step 4: Ensure the proper side of the mask faces outwards
Step 5: Place the mask on your face
Step 6: Adjust the nose piece
Step 7: Tie the lower band of the mask if needed
Step 8: Fit the mask to the face and under your chin

The BMCC Higher Education Committee had its first meeting for 2020 last month. 

This was attended by 12 members, and we also welcomed a new committee member - Prof. Dato' Dr Ansary Ahmed, Founder & President of Asia E-University (AEU), one of BMCC's Sterling members.
 
In line with the Government's goal to promote Malaysia as a regional education hub, the HE Committee is looking at international students’ employability as a means of attracting international students to the country. The Committee will also assume a thought leadership role in promoting UK education in Malaysia and vice versa with the focus area being student empowerment and the student voice. Please keep a look out for the committee's initiatives and events this year.

The BMCC met up with Bill Addington, BMCC Board Director & Managing Director of TechSol Sdn Bhd and Michael J. McIver, Director / CEO of Plus Three Consultants (M) Sdn Bhd last week, discussing potential initiatives for BMCC members involved in the infrastructure sector. Both longstanding BMCC members, TechSol provides technical and commercial support to contractors, consultants, lawyers and insurance companies throughout South-east Asia, whilst Plus Three Consultants advises and assist organisations within the construction and infrastructure industry on complex commercial and contractual matters.

We were also invited to the offices of Knight Frank Malaysia Sdn Bhd where we held discussions with Dominic Heaton-Watson, (Associate Director, International Residential Project Marketing ) on collaborative avenues, as well as being introduced to their UK partner Berkeley Group, represented by Jonathan Bearsdall (Head of Sales & Business Development - Emerging Markets, SEA). A Large Member of the BMCC, Knight Frank is a leading independent global real estate consultancy headquartered in London, providing integrated prime commercial and residential offerings, operating in key hubs across the globe.

Stopping by the BMCC to explore bilateral UK-Malaysian support systems and collaborations was Pn Hazina Mohamad (Head, International Business Development Department) and En. Abdul Hafiz Ahmad (Senior Executive, International Business Development Department) from the Perbadanan Usahawan Nasional Berhad. PUNB was established in 1991 to enhance the participation and involvement of Bumiputera in entrepreneurship and to develop dynamic, resilient, progressive Bumiputera Commercial and Industrial Community (BCIC).

Alice Smith School Foundation Charity Dinner (28 Feb)

Join the Alice Smith School Foundation Charity Dinner and at the same time, support a noble cause. 

Hosted by the school’s secondary students, this event has been repeatedly praised as being one of the highlights of the school year. The dinner aims to raise awareness of, and money for community service projects, both locally and internationally. Last year, thanks to the generosity of donors, the school raised over RM83,000 to assist with the renovation of schools that students visit, rural community development, resource acquisition for those in need, and a range of wildlife and environmental conservation projects.
