Face Mask To Be Compulsory Effective Aug 1
Effective Aug 1, the government is making compulsory the wearing of face mask in public or congested areas and public transport, whereby a fine of RM1,000 could be imposed on those caught not wearing the “shield” under the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988 (Act 342). Congratulations from BMCC to the University of Nottingham Malaysia Class of 2020 Graduates!
The University of Nottingham Malaysia held an online celebration for the graduates from the Class of 2020 recently. A physical graduation ceremony will be held upon the returning of students to the university. This celebration was channeled on all social media platforms whereby a series of messages and speeches congratulating the graduands were delivered by their Chancellor, Vice-Chancellor, and distinguished guests. GEMS International School: Virtual Sports Day Results!
GEMS Sports Day ran virtually in Term 3 and it was a huge success. Run as an inter-house competition, the children enjoyed gaining points for their team by taking part in a series of PE related activities, with mums and dads (sometimes even pets) joining in. We are dedicated to building young people and we want all GEMS to be physically healthy! Sport is of equal value at GEMS as class based subjects and our Virtual Sports Day was just one way in which we promote this important aspect of child development.

Individuals entering Malaysia to bear quarantine cost from 24 July
To curb the spread of the COVID-19, the Government of Malaysia has imposed compulsory quarantine orders at the Quarantine Stations set by the Government of Malaysia, subject to the provisions of Section 15 (1) Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988 (Act 342).
Beginning 24 July 2020 all individuals entering Malaysia through the International Entry Point (Pintu Masuk Utama - PMA) are required to bear the quarantine costs. Individuals who are subject to quarantine orders will be referred to as Persons Under Surveillance (PUS).

Expatriate Services Division: Latest Update 25 July 2020
Expatriates and their dependents holding Entry Permission (EP) and Residence Pass-Talent (EP-T) passes or Employment Passes I, II & III and Professional visit Pass must undergo a compulsory Fourteen (14) days quarantine at a Quarantine Centre stipulated by the National Disaster Management Agency (NADMA) and Ministry of Health (MOH). The cost of quarantine shall be borne by the applicant.
