| 1. Ministry of Works Media Statement |
|
|
|
Work in all construction sites in the six states placed under the Movement Control Order (MCO) has been ordered to stop effective today, 13 January 2021.
However, five categories in the construction sector have been given exceptions to ensure continuity, namely critical maintenance and repair work, major public infrastructure construction works, building construction work, professional services or consultants and as well as other services in the supply chain such as the supply of building materials, delivery of materials and so on.
All companies involved in such projects must obtain permission to operate from MITI through the CIMS MITI portal.

| 2. Ministry of Finance (MOF) Media Statement on "Malaysia's Capital Markets and Most Economic Sectors to Remain Open" |

|
Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz said in a media statement today Malaysian capital markets will remain open to support and facilitate fundraising, trading and investment, with all regulatory functions in place throughout the MCO, CMCO and RMCO and the Emergency Ordinance period as the nation contends against the Covid-19 pandemic.
Going forward, Tengku Zafrul said the government will continue to roll out measures under Budget 2021 to firmly place Malaysia on its recovery path in 2021 and that there is sufficient domestic liquidity to finance any additional fiscal stimulus to support lives, livelihoods and businesses, if necessary.

| 3. MIDA Update on Operations during the MCO and Launch of New Website |
|
|
|
In an update on their operations during the MCO, MIDA has announced it will continue to function albeit with reduced headcount at MIDA Sentral to assist businesses in their operations.

Additionally, to support and facilitate local and foreign companies in their investment journey in Malaysia, MIDA has launched its new website, providing a more enhanced digital one-stop centre to visitors with a higher focus on crucial information through streamlining of content.

| 4. Expatriate Services Division (ESD) - Operations during the MCO |
|
|
|
During the duration of the MCO from 13 to 26 January 2021, MYXpats Centre counter services will be operating with minimal support.
Company representatives and Residence Pass - Talent (RP-T) holders are required to apply for MyHelp Online Appointment before proceeding with any passport/ payment submissions and endorsement processes at both the Expatriate Services Division (ESD) in Putrajaya and MYXpats Centre in Mutiara Damansara. Strictly no walk-in is allowed.
