Approval Letters for All Sectors Allowed under MCO Will Be Issued by MITI

MKN has issued a statement on 31 May 2021 saying a one-stop centre coordinated by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) will be established to issue operation permits for essential services during the total lockdown starting 1 June 2021.

All permits to operate issued earlier by MITI for the service sectors allowed by the government have been cancelled effective 1 June 2021.

New applications for work travel approval have to be resubmitted via the Covid-19 Intelligent Management System (CIMS) 3.0 portal, which is coordinated by MITI, with the involvement of all ministries regulating the 17 service sectors allowed to operate. The letter of permission will be issued after receiving confirmation from the ministry regulating that particular sector.

According to MITI's media statement dated 31 May 2021, companies that are already registered in CIMS 3.0 are not required to re-apply and can proceed to download the approval letter to operate starting 8.00 pm, 31 May 2021 (see infographic below). Companies that have yet to register can submit their application from 8.00 am, 1 June 2021. Detailed information on the registration procedure in CIMS 3.0 (via notification.miti.gov.my) can be accessed through www.miti.gov.my.

This will apply to those involved under the logistics sector only, which includes air and maritime transportation, courier services and warehousing. Other sectors can access the submission for approval to operate via CIMS 3.0.

The new approval letters are now available for download here.
