We are proud to announce our exchange of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Malaysian Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) in an effort to bolster digital trade and economic cooperation between the UK and Malaysia. |

The MOU exchange between Ts. BMCC Roundtable Session with the Ministry of Digital Malaysia and the Malaysian Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) |

On the same occasion, our members from the Digital Tech sector also engaged in a thought-provoking roundtable with the Ministry of Digital Malaysia and MDEC.
The session sparked stimulating conversations surrounding Malaysia's digital agenda, strategies within the digital and tech domains, and collaborative opportunities for the Chamber and its members to contribute to these initiatives.
The BMCC was privileged to be the Minister of Digital's first Chamber to hold a roundtable session, and we eagerly anticipate further collaboration with the Ministry and MDEC to advance Malaysia's digital economy. |

Last Week’s Solving the Tax Technology Puzzle of e-Invoicing Webinar with EY |

On 28 February, the BMCC and the American Malaysian Chamber of Commerce(AmCham), in partnership with Ernst and Young (EY), held an enlightening webinar on tax technology, with particular regard to Global Tax e-Invoicing Solution (GTES), and overcoming common issues encountered with e-invoicing. |
|
|
The webinar featured welcoming addresses from BMCC CEO Jennifer Lopez and AmCham CEO Siobhan Das. Amaejeet Singh, EY ASEAN Tax Leader opened with an overview on e-invoicing, and Dr. Rasyidah Che Rosli, Director of Operations, Policy Section, Tax Operations Department for the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (IRBM), provided updates on the e-invoicing landscape in Malaysia.
EY's experts, Adrian Lim, Technology Consulting Partner; Julian Wong, EY ASEAN Global Compliance and Reporting Leader; and Derek Chan, Associate Partner for International Tax & Transaction Services, provided information on tax technology options and a demonstration on Global Tax e-Invoicing Solution (GTES). Wong Chow Yang, Partner for Business Tax Services from EY then presented about common tax and finance issues to consider in relation to e-invoicing.

The purpose of this research is to showcase opportunities for neurodiverse people in considering a career in accountancy and beyond. |

This endeavour also serves to highlight employer perspectives on how they are/should be supporting neurodiverse talent development.
For the interview, ACCA is looking for interview candidates as follows: - Neurodivergent individuals or talents - in finance and accounting
- Neurodivergent individuals or talents - in other fields or domains
- Employers of such talent - this could be the HR/People or Business leader
For clarification, individuals diagnosed as neurodivergent would primarily include those on the autism spectrum disorder, those diagnosed with attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, dyscalculia (difficulty with maths), dyslexia (difficulty with reading), as well as other diagnoses.
ACCA plans to conduct the interviews with these candidates in March with the report due in June 2024.
