Exciting News: Malaysia Will Actively Issue the Strategic Investor Pass and Broaden the Digital Nomad Professional Visit Pass Scope |
In a move to bolster Malaysia's position in the Asian economy and enhance its attractiveness as a global investment hub, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has announced it will actively issue the Strategic Investor Pass (SIP). This pass will enable identified strategic investors, as recognised by the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA), to enter Malaysia on a multiple-entry basis.
The SIP initiative allows strategic investors to stay in the country for a minimum of five years, with the possibility of extending their stay for an additional five years. This long-term facilitation aims to provide investors with the stability and flexibility they need to make substantial contributions to Malaysia's economic growth.
Additionally, in a related development, two months ago, the government granted Bank Negara Malaysia full authority in determining the entry of professionals into the country. This move further underscores Malaysia's dedication to creating an environment conducive to attracting top talent and fostering economic prosperity.
In another progressive step, the government is broadening the scope of the Digital Nomad Professional Visit Pass to encompass manufacturing-related skills. Professionals such as electrical and electronics (E&E) and integrated circuit (IC) designers will be eligible to relocate to Malaysia and engage in freelance work for up to two years.
These remarkable initiatives are poised to attract a diverse pool of investors and skilled professionals, fostering innovation and prosperity for Malaysia's economy. As the nation embraces the opportunities of the future, it solidifies its position as a sought-after destination for international investment and talent. The government's vision for a thriving and dynamic Malaysia is undoubtedly taking shape, paving the way for a brighter economic landscape in the years ahead. |

Member's Engagement | ASCARO Padel & Social Club |
Last week, BMCC's Executive Office and Member representatives had a blast at a game of Padel, hosted by our newest member ASCARO.
ASCARO offers an unparalleled elevated padel experience, boasting high-end downtown courts and an exclusive clothing brand. With rooftop courts in both downtown Stockholm and Kuala Lumpur, ASCARO brings the excitement of padel to the heart of the city.
Padel is a fusion of tennis and squash, played on a court with walls at each end and a net in the middle. The sport originated in Mexico in 1969, and its UK presence began in 1992 with the British Padel Association, now known as LTA Padel. In 2011, the first UK padel courts were built, leading to the sport's popularity. By 2019, there were 40 public courts in the UK, with steady growth anticipated.
BMCC Members who are keen to give this thrilling sport a try, or better yet have a social event at ASCARO, can reach out to us for more info. |

Meet Our New Member, ASCARO Padel & Social Club |
ASCARO stems from a vision to bring exciting elements back into padel. To find and to be the core of padel. Founded in Stockholm, inspired by how padel makes you feel, inside and out, ASCARO was born. A game with a rich history that quickly became popular around the world. Adding style and city pulse to a sport that already makes our hearts beat, we take padel to another level.
Early this May, they officially opened their courts to all padel enthusiasts in Kuala Lumpur! A first of its kind in the city, they brought this new and exciting attraction to KL’s sports and entertainment scene. Alongside the four high-end courts are ASCARO’s own clothing brand and a fully-equipped gym from the official Olympic supplier, Eleiko. To complete the experience, their rooftop bar and restaurant, PALOMA promises to offer a delightful array of Mediterranean cuisine and cocktail concoctions on the wooden deck.
Visit ASCARO at the rooftop of 1Utama (New Wing). Their doors are open to anyone who wants to play padel, organise events, or simply socialise and have drinks at the roof deck. |

Meet Our New Member, Fusionbrand |
Established in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 2003, Fusionbrand is Asia’s leading customer-focused brand consultancy. In the social economy, where consumers not companies define brands, Fusionbrand understands better than most that companies can no longer waste time, effort and money on unfocused, expensive customer acquisition strategies built around corporate-driven messages advertised repeatedly across all media in the hope that they will stick.
Whether business-to-business, business-to-consumer, or government-to-citizen, they will help you focus on what your customers want based on the belief that, to be successful, a brand must deliver economic, experiential, and emotional (and increasingly social) value at all times, at all touchpoints and on customer terms. |
