MSMEs to Benefit from MADANI Digital Trade Initiative |
|
Dear Subscriber,
In line with Malaysia’s vision to become a leading hub for digital commerce, the MADANI Digital Trade (MDT) initiative is set to revolutionise Malaysia's trade ecosystem. Spearheaded by the Government in collaboration with key agencies like MATRADE (Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation), the MDT aims to strengthen Malaysia’s position in the global digital economy by enhancing digital infrastructure, fostering cross-border partnerships, and driving e-commerce growth.
Under this initiative, the Government will expand digital connectivity, streamline trade processes, and enhance access to international markets. A key focus will be on empowering SMEs by equipping them with digital tools and platforms to scale their businesses globally. MATRADE will play a crucial role in facilitating global trade partnerships, guiding businesses through the complexities of digital trade, and bolstering Malaysia’s presence in the international market.
Minister of Investment, Trade, and Industry Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz emphasised the significance of MDT in enabling Malaysian SMEs to expand their market reach, enhance trade efficiency, and accelerate digital adoption—ensuring Malaysia remains competitive in the global digital economy.
The BMCC looks forward to advocating for innovation, developing digital skills, and advanced technologies to foster a dynamic ecosystem where businesses in our membership can thrive. The MDT marks a pivotal step in shaping Malaysia’s future to lead in regional and global digital trade by 2025.
