BMCC CEO Insight Series Unveiled the Building Blocks of Success
A Captivating CEO's Career Narrative by Siti Sulaiman of Shell Malaysia
image
We recently had the honour of Siti Sulaiman, Country Chair and Senior Vice President (Upstream) of Shell Malaysia sharing her illustrious career narrative at our CEO Insight Series, an event co-hosted with British Council Malaysia. Themed 'Building Blocks of Success: A CEO's Career Narrative,' the event witnessed an enthusiastic and engaged audience that filled the venue with inspiring energy.

During this panel, Siti generously shared her career journey, the challenges she faced, and the invaluable lessons learned on her path to becoming a remarkable leader. The interactive discussion was skillfully moderated by Dash Dhakshinamoorthy, Founder of StartupMalaysia.Org.

As we reflect on Siti's profound insights, here are some key takeaways that we believe will resonate with each one of you:
1. Embrace Adaptability and Flexibility:
Embracing adaptability and flexibility positions us for success in an ever-evolving world.

2. Be a Learning Machine:
Being a perpetual learner inspires us to seek knowledge and embrace new opportunities for personal and professional development.
image
3. Cultivate a Sense of Belonging:
Having an inclusive and nurturing work environment by fostering a sense of belonging among team members encourages collaboration and mutual support.

4. Be Human and Humble:
Authentic leadership involves humility and empathy. It is essential to be genuine, humble, and understanding in our interactions with others.

5. Connect, Learn, Share, and Grow
Like Alumni UK's tagline, Siti believes that leadership is not about being perfect but about the willingness to connect with others, learn from experiences, share knowledge, and grow collectively.

6. Empower Your Team Members:
Empowering team members with trust and autonomy promotes their growth and enables them to shine.

7. Striking a Balance Between Work and Family
Nurturing a healthy work-life balance ensures that our personal lives flourish alongside our professional achievements.
As we look forward to the next instalment of the series, we remain grateful to Siti Sulaiman, Country Chair and Senior Vice President (Upstream) of Shell Malaysia, for her inspirational sharing.

We also extend our heartfelt appreciation to Nik Tasha, Deputy Chair of BMCC and Prabha Sundram, Head of Education (Malaysia) of British Council Malaysia, for their valuable presence and support throughout the event.

Lastly, a huge shoutout to the British Council Malaysia Team for co-organising this enriching event with us. This edition of the series was curated exclusively for Alumni UK members and BMCC members and network, with the aim of providing great insights and actionable takeaways for all attendees.

Stay tuned for more transformative events in the future!
