Smith & Nephew, founded in England in 1856, is a global medical technology company specialising in advanced wound care, orthopaedics, sports medicine, and ENT products. In Malaysia, S+N expanded its presence by opening a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility at the Batu Kawan Industrial Park in Penang.

|
We recently celebrated the successful conclusion of the 25th JPA-BMCC Management Development Programme 2024 - a specially tailored programme aimed at providing an opportunity for senior Government officers from diverse sectors, hands-on experience with the private sector, especially. This programme has not only advanced the officers professional development and forged new friendships, but also created opportunities for collaboration between the public and private sectors – an essential partnership in today’s dynamic global landscape.
The closing ceremony was attended by YBhg. Datuk Dr. Anesee bin Ibrahim, Deputy Director-General of the Public Service Department of Malaysia; Encik Rusli bin Harun, Deputy Director, National Institute of Public Administration (INTAN); and Mr. Richard Colley, Country Director of Trade and Investment for the British High Commission in Malaysia. |
|
BCAP 2024 provided a transformative 43-day journey for 15 senior government officers, encompassing preparatory courses at INTAN, business visits to the UK, and industrial attachment modules with leading British and Malaysian companies. This year’s theme, 'Fostering Leaders for Holistic Innovation and Smart Development', prioritised critical sectors such as digitalisation, AI, energy transition, sustainability, and talent development, equipping participants with the tools to enhance Malaysia’s public service delivery and policy implementation.
A big thank you to our members - the British and Malaysian companies that hosted the participants in both the UK and Malaysia: Arup, AstraZeneca, BP, HANDD Business Solutions, Infobip, Learning Curve Group, Lancaster University, Marlborough College, Sunway University, University of Nottingham, and YTL Construction, solidifying their commitment and trust in building public-private partnerships.
This 25th instalment of the programme also marks the third in our recent series, commemorating 41 years of BMCC’s steadfast partnership with JPA. This relationship is a cornerstone of our shared commitment to excellence in leadership development and is of great importance to the Chamber.
Lastly, we congratulate this year's participants for their dedication and express our gratitude to all stakeholders for their unwavering support in making this year's programme a resounding success. |
