POSITION SUMMARY
The Chief Science Officer (CSO) International Program Coordinator provides support to the CSO International Program Manager to foster CSO International relationships and to deliver programming for all CSO International Partnerships. The CSO International Program Coordinator promotes the STEM Ecosystem in alignment with SciTech's mission to cultivate an aware, connected, and empowered ecosystem of conscious and vibrant STEM communities.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs support and administrative tasks to ensure adequate and appropriate school and community support for CSOs in the program and that all members meet program requirements.
  • Provides administrative support to the CSO International Manager in drafting, tracking, and renewing contracts and managing invoices and payment schedules for CSO International Partners.
  • Works with regional representatives and the Alumni Association, CSOs and CSO alumni to foster CSO International program growth, to include, but not limited to, contacting former CSOs, hosting events, and overseeing Alumni Board activities.
  • Works and travels with Regional Leads and Cabinet Coordinators to assist with, plan, and participate in training and Leadership Training Institutes for new cabinets.
  • Partners with the Marketing and Communications team to assist with traditional program promotion (e.g. producing collateral, coordinating and executing public relations initiatives, etc.) and online and social media promotion (e.g. blogs, vlogs, posts, CSO website content, etc.).
  • Supports CSO International Program Manager in expansion and funding efforts through attendance at business and networking events and conferences and through grant research.Collaborates with and supports colleagues and assists in the coordination and implementation of large-scale and cross-hub events and programs.
  • Engages with students and interacts regularly, in G-Suite/Zoom/Teams, and/or in the community.
  • Collects, verifies, and sorts student registration, parental consent, and media release forms.
  • Adheres to protocol and helps builds relationships with school administrators, district administrators, and parents to foster the growth and continuation of the CSO program as well as provide leadership opportunities within the community.
  • Attends regular staff meetings and hosts key event meetings, as well as various other activities.
  • Assists with SciTech Institute programs and activities, including, but not limited to, the Arizona SciTech Festival, Science for All, and the Arizona SciTech Ecosystems.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
 
Position Requirements

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience working with students grades 6-12, teaching or in a field of science OR an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Ability to travel frequently (40% of the time), both nationally and internationally.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Proficiency with business applications such as MS Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word), Canva, Google applications, and Salesforce.
  • Experience using website and social media platforms like Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, etc.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the principles and practices of student and community leader/professional mentorship.
  • Ability to build and maintain partnerships with regional leaders in diverse organizations in business, the community, government, and education.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience planning small- to large-scale events.
  • Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, exercise good judgment, manage expectations, and solve problems.
  • Proven ability to organize workflow, forecast time to complete assigned tasks, meet deadlines, document action items, multi-task and follow through on tasks and commitments.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. This position requires sitting for extended periods of time. Occasionally requires standing, squatting, reaching and bending. Requires ability to receive information through oral communication both in-person and on telephone. Manual dexterity needed for using computer keyboard. Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds. Must have adequate vision to operate computer and complete paperwork.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in a professional office environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as assigned workstation, computer, phone, copier and file cabinet.
