Toyota led the field with close to 20 per cent share of the orders for cars.
Of the total 10,589 orders on the first five days, 9,462 were for cars and 1,127 for motorcycles.
This year, despite the strong trend of EV cars, Japanese carmaker Toyota secured orders for 1,802 cars, followed way behind by Chinese brand MG with 871 orders.
Another Chinese carmaker, BYD, which saw strong bookings late last year and topped sales in the last quarter, surpassing major players like Tesla, has opted to withhold booking figures until the last day of the event.
The top 5 for car bookings were: Toyota 1,802; MG 871; Honda 817; Mitsubishi 557 and Ford 551.
The top 5 for motorcycle bookings were: Yamaha 332; Zeeho 317; Strom 88; Harley-Davidson 72 and BMW Motorrad 68.
The motor show is being held at Challenger Halls 1-3 and Impact Forum Hall 4 until April 7. The show is open for visitors from noon to 10pm on weekdays and from 11am to 10pm on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays.
