We have partnered with ParentGuidance.org!

Too often, parents can’t find accurate information for the specific questions they have about parenting and mental health. ParentGuidance.org is an online resource where parents can get trusted support and real help for their children.

Through ParentGuidance.org schools give their parents:

💻 Free Online On-Demand Courses taught by licensed therapists
👪 District-Wide Introductory Family Mental Health Night hosted by experts
🔑 Access to “Ask a Therapist” user submitted questions and clinician responses

It’s a game changer for rural communities, where it is often difficult to get access to trusted mental health resources.

Tobin Novasio, superintendent of Lockwood Schools in Montana has said, “oftentimes the school system is putting resources to several children from the same family at different grade levels when it would be more efficient to provide support to the parents as well.”

That’s exactly what ParentGuidance.org does. They help educators help parents help their children.

ParentGuidance.org is a service provided by the Cook Center for Human Connection, a nonprofit foundation, at no-cost to parents. The Cook Center partners with schools, districts, and organizations across the United States to bring mental health resources to your community. Our focus is strengthening human connection and providing avenues to mental health support for those in need.

Help renew civic learning and civic engagement! Education in civics and history equips members of a democratic society to understand, appreciate, nurture, and, where necessary, improve their political system and civil society. As a nation, our bonds are strained, civility has worn thin, and our sense of common purpose has weakened, just as the need for cooperation on large challenges grows urgent. The time has come to recommit to the civic and history education of our young people as a key mechanism for repairing the foundations of our constitutional democracy. Support for and learning among civics teachers is crucial for success.

To continue to address this urgent need, the , a civic education initiative at the Edmond & Lily Safra Center for Ethics at Harvard University, will host a group of 12 eighth grade and high school teachers at a one-week, expenses-paid Civic Summer Learning Institute for Learning and Teaching at the campus in Acadia, Maine: Sunday, July 30 – Saturday August 5, 2023.
