The American Institutes for Research (AIR) and its partners are offering an exciting U.S. Department of Education-funded study opportunity to school districts across the country to implement Promoting Adolescent Comprehension of Text-Local (PACT-L) and we would appreciate your support in recruiting districts in your area. Please see below for a brief description of the study and its supports. If you think districts you work with would be interested and a good fit for this opportunity, we would like to schedule a call with you to discuss how to outreach to districts and share more about the study.

PACT uses evidence-based social studies and literacy teaching strategies that over a decade of prior research has shown to improve students’ social studies content knowledge, literacy, and academic language.
Schools and districts that participate in this opportunity will receive all PACT materials (teachers’ guides, team-based learning activities, student books, and activity pages). Additionally, educators will be provided a workshop that builds their capacity in the use of PACT strategies and job-embedded coaching to support PACT implementation by social studies teachers. For this study, all PACT materials, professional development, and coaching activities are provided at no cost to the district.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to me at  or at

Sincerely,
Isabelle D'Souza, PACT-L Recruitment Coordinator
