The eighth cohort of the National Committee Public Intellectuals Program (PIP) Fellows recently traveled to San Francisco to explore U.S.-China relations from a West Coast perspective. Over the course of the four-day workshop, PIP Fellows met with local officials and community leaders from a variety of fields including tech, climate change, subnational engagement, and Chinese American communities. The National Committee held the latest iteration of its long-running Track II U.S.-China Strategic Security Dialogue on March 24-28 in Honolulu, Hawaii. We were very pleased to have as co-chairs of this Dialogue General Joseph Dunford, former chair of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and an NCUSCR board member, and General Qi Jianguo, former deputy chief of the PLA Joint Staff. In addition to its very productive internal discussions, the group met with both the outgoing and incoming commanders of U.S. INDO-PACOM, Admirals John Aquilino and Samuel Paparo.
