A New Way of Working with Government

The British Chamber of Commerce Myanmar are delighted to host Brad Jones, CEO of Wave Money, who will speak about the importance of working on timely and innovative public-private partnerships.

We are honoured to welcome H.E. U Thaung Tun, Union Minister for Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations to make the opening address.

Like so many other developing countries, Myanmar faces the ongoing challenge of operating during a pandemic and resulting economic climate. Public officials and consumers alike are swiftly pivoting to digital transactions and embracing new ways of working and lifestyles.

Wave Money was launched just over four years ago in Myanmar and has already become a trusted digital financial service provider and reliable partner of merchants, government agencies, non-government, and humanitarian organizations. They have also recently launched WavePay by Wave Money mobile wallet application, which delivers Myanmar's new digital finance era. The company, and its 64,000 local agents based in 297 townships across the country, don't just handle payments and cash transfers. They support aid agencies, dispense pensions and serve as a distribution channel choice for relief funding on numerous social development programs.

Please join us for this special event to learn more about how the local fintech market is maturing to the benefit of large businesses, MSMEs, INGOs, government, and consumers, including the unbanked and underbanked.
