Allianz Ayudhya launches “My Health Plus Double Care”

Pay-as-charge health plan with double coverage when diagnosed with 10 critical illnesses, highest coverage up to 60 MB

Allianz Ayudhya Assurance Public Company Limited, one of Thailand’s leading health protection insurer, introduces its latest health plan to help Thais coping with increased medical costs. Reflecting the medical inflation, My Health Plus Double Care is designed with increased coverage ranging from 8 to 30 million baht. The advertising campaign launched today aims to trigger the importance of having health protection under the theme “Health investment that should not be missed!”

Patchara Taveechaiwattana, Chief Customer Officer of Allianz Ayudhya Assurance Public Company Limited, states, "The medical inflation is not only a result from economic situation but also the advancement of medical treatment that gives more effective outcome. Critical illnesses such as cancer, heart disease, or stroke normally cause over a million medical expense. Allianz Ayudhya realizes this situation and therefore design the new health plan that can provide coverage in response to this increased expense. The pay-as-charge Double Care also has a special feature by double the coverage if the policyholder is diagnosed with 10 critical illnesses listed in the policy's terms and conditions.”

"My Health Plus, Double Care" is the latest pay-as-charge health plan offered by Allianz Ayudhya. With increased coverage and provide protection up until 90 years old, it comes in 3 different plans with sum assured starting from 8 million, 15 million and 30 million. The coverage will be double to 16 million, 30 million, and 60 million respectively if the policyholder is diagnosed as one among the 10 critical illnesses according to the policy contract. These illnesses include Acute Myocardial Infarction, Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting, surgery to repair heart valves by means of median sternotomy, Cerebral Aneurysm that requires surgery, strokes and embolic strokes, advanced cancer, organs and bone marrow transplants, aorta-related surgeries, scoliosis surgeries, and major burn treatments.

Eligible for application is the customer aged 1 month 1 day old to 70 years old (Renew the plan up to 89 years of age, coverage up to 90 years of age). The plan is a rider developed to better fulfill the customers’ needs. Not only covering a wide range of medical expenses when having to be hospitalized, such as fees for surgery, medical equipment, anesthesia, emergency ambulance, outpatient services-- medical treatment for emergency accident within 24 hours after the accident, including small surgery that does not require hospitalization, but also added extra coverage for physical medicine and rehabilitation, wound cleansing, and suture removal. In addition, "My Health Plus Double Care" covers the yearly budget up to 5,500 baht for vaccinations and health checkups.

To introduce the new plan to the consumer, Allianz Ayudhya has developed an online advertising campaign under the theme “Health investment that should not be missed” in an effort to not only raise awareness about the new product, but also to trigger people the importance of having an insurance plan. The advertising parody the reviews of watches, properties, and credit cards with the purchase of insurance policies. The watch review compares purchasing watches to investments. Similarly, getting insurance coverage is an investment, as a small amount of premiums can save millions of baht on medical care. The property review emphasizes that obtaining treatments from fully equipped hospitals, particularly for critical illnesses require the best treatment, will be a carefree experience with the "Double Care" insurance coverage. The advertisement with a credit card review contrasts insurance policy limits to credit limits, emphasizing that policy limits will be doubled if diagnosed as a critical illness. This is the new way of advertising the health insurance plan which is believed to create the great attention from the audience. These ads, which will be available exclusively on online channels, are created by Papop Chaowanapreecha, Deputy Executive Creative Director at Rabbit Digital Group.

“We expect that the series of advertisements will raise well awareness of the "My Health Plus Double Care" insurance policy. This will be especially true given the current economic climate, which is characterized by high inflation, soaring medical costs, the emergence of new diseases, and lifestyles that contribute to a variety of critical illnesses. We anticipate that the new advertisements will assist us in generating 450 million baht premiun from the new policy by the end of the year” concluded Patchara.
