AmCham Thanksgiving Day Golf Tournament 2023
November 24, 2023 | by AmCham Webmaster

It was the perfect blend of golf and perfect weather fun as serious (and not so serious) golfers gathered for 18 holes and a sumptuous turkey feast at our signature annual AmCham Thanksgiving Day Golf Tournament 2023, on Nov 23.

Some 132 players took to the greens and fairways (and the occasional bunker) at the Imperial Klub Golf Karawaci comprising new friends and old, after Jeff Cohen, USAID Mission Director; and Arief Susanto, Corporate Affairs Director of Cargill Indonesia and a member of AmCham Indonesia’s Board of Governors, hit the smoke balls to officially open the tournament.

Despite the onset of the rainy season, the weather stayed shady and cool throughout the day, which was perfect for the golfers of all skill levels. Fun activities and delicious offerings were also on hand around the course.

Thanks to StarbucksSubway and Park Hyatt, golfers could indulge in various snack and drink selections, and at the 16th hole they could also experience a unique putt-putt golf challenge by our Diamond Sponsor, Oppo, with the opportunity to win Wimbledon x Oppo official merchandise.

AmCham’s one-of-a-kind Nearest to the Pumpkin and Nearest to the Turkey novelty games also made a welcome return this year, with congratulations to Mr Kim from Oppo Indonesia and Richard Mau from JS Luwansa for winning these categories.

Congratulations also to Lucas Keuroghlian for winning Nearest to the Pin at 170cm, Bas Van Den Dool for hitting the Longest Drive at 280m and the superb Annemarie Kraan for the Ladies Longest Drive at 213m.

Kudos also to the foursome of Minn Tun, Jeremy Summer, Lionel Summer and Brandon Skinner for securing first place in the tournament overall. Noah Haji, Tanya Nielsen, Eli Moselle and Annemarie Kraan took second place, followed by Don Duttlinger, Ben Bunawijaya, Sutendri Yusuf and Eromzi in third place.

Also, congratulations to the grand prize winners of a Samsung TV sponsored by the Korean Chamber of Commerce (Bryan Soh), one-year membership at Imperial Klub Golf Karawaci (Nicolas Verdenal), a $3,605 stay voucher by Amandari at Amanwana (Mohib Ahmed) and a $4,720 stay voucher at Aman Villa Nusa Dua (Albert Arcenas). Last, but definitely not least, congratulations to the winners of Oppo Find N3 Flip (Ananda Purwoyuwono) and Oppo Find N3 (Jack E Calcote), which were presented by Jim Zhang, CEO of Oppo Indonesia, who also played in the tournament.

To close the event, golfers and guests convened at the IKG clubhouse to enjoy the traditional Thanksgiving meal provided by our Diamond Sponsor, JS Luwansa Hotel & Convention Center Jakarta. Everyone also enjoyed the overflowing refreshing beers by Carlsberg and quality wines, Vina Albali Tempranilo and Vina Albali Semi Dulce Sauvignon Blanc by Swillfam and The Peak Connoisseurs.

The success of this year’s tournament reflects the strong business community AmCham Indonesia has built since its establishment more than 50 years ago. Board of Governor’s Vice Chair Scott Hanna and in-coming Managing Director Lydia Ruddy, conveyed AmCham Indonesia's gratitude to all those who contributed to a successful day of festivities.

Big thanks to the Diamond sponsors, Oppo and The JS Luwansa Hotel & Convention Center Jakarta; and the Platinum sponsors, ExxonMobil and Oakwood Premier Cozmo Jakarta. We also thank all of our Gold sponsors, Silver sponsors, Hole-in-One sponsor and partners.

We hope to see you all again at our next Turkey Day Tournament in 2024. Happy Thanksgiving!
