Sunway celebrates yet another milestone in our long-term, collaborative partnership with University of Cambridge as Sunway Medical Centre and Royal Papworth Hospital, a member of Cambridge University Health Partners, join hands to deepen collaboration in the areas of knowledge transfer, education and clinical services in cardiology, cardio-thoracic surgery and respiratory medicine, and to mark the retirement of Professor John Wallwork CBE as Chairman of the Board, Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.    Professor Wallwork, who performed the first heart-lung and liver transplant in the world, facilitated the agreement between Sunway Medical Centre and Royal Papworth Hospital in 2017.   A commemorative plaque was unveiled by Sunway Group founder and chairman Tan Sri Sir Dr. Jeffrey Cheah KBE AO and Sunway Healthcare Group president Dato’ Lau Beng Long alongside Prof. Deborah Prentice, vice-chancellor of the University of Cambridge, marking this momentous occasion.    The Cambridge-Sunway alliance forged in 2017 yielded joint programmes and academic exchanges to enhance healthcare and education, including the successful Cambridge-Royal Papworth-Sunway Heart & Lung Symposium. Sunway's continuous efforts to advance and redefine medical excellence as well as deliver unparalleled healthcare services to our communities underscores our commitment to advancing healthcare in Malaysia and Southeast Asia.

Sunway celebrates this Raya season with our nationwide #SunwayforGood Sinar Ramadan! 🌙   In conjunction with our 50th anniversary, this month-long CSR initiative has seen our special guests, long-term partners and volunteers spreading festive cheer among the underserved communities across five states nationwide.   Special thanks to our long-term partners namely Malaysian AIDS Foundation, Yayasan Kebajikan Negara, Selangor Youth Community (SAY), Malaysian Red Crescent Society, Yayasan Raja Zarith Sofiah Negeri Johor, and the Malaysian AIDS Foundation Red Ribbon Celebrity Supporters who supported us in this meaningful initiative throughout the holy month of Ramadan.   This year, our #SunwayforGood Sinar Ramadan has impacted more than 4,000 beneficiaries nationwide as Sunway commemorates five decades of commitment to nation-building. #Sunway #SunwayGroup #Society #SunwayforGood

Our founder and chairman Tan Sri Sir Dr. Jeffrey Cheah KBE AO delivered a special presentation on “Cultivating a Strong and Lasting Legacy” to an audience of more than 200 comprising next-generation leaders of family-run businesses at UOB Malaysia’s Executive Learning Forum, held in conjunction with the launch of Business Circle in Malaysia. “As an entrepreneur who does business with a heart, and who has achieved a bit of success – I personally believe that the three most important elements in building a lasting business are mind-sets, leadership and ethical values. The values we uphold and our capability to inspire others will determine if we succeed or fail,” said Tan Sri Sir Dr. Jeffrey Cheah. The Business Circle is an initiative by UOB dedicated to empowering next generation leaders of family-led businesses, which make up over 60% of publicly listed corporations and an even larger share of private companies across ASEAN. #Sunway #SunwayGroup #UOB

Following a series of heartwarming efforts in Johor, Perak and Penang, #SunwayforGood Sinar Ramadan took place in Selangor and Terengganu in the past week. The Selangor Crown Prince and Selangor Youth Community (SAY) patron His Highness Tengku Amir Shah Ibni Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj, joined Sunway Group deputy chairman Tan Sri Datuk Seri Razman Hashim and Malaysian AIDS Foundation (MAF) chairman Prof. Dato' Dr. Adeeba Kamarulzaman, in treating more than 100 children from four orphanages to a wholesome buka puasa meal at Rumah Amal Raudhatul Jannah in Kuala Langat, Selangor. In Terengganu, we extended a hearty buka puasa spread to 100 People living with HIV/AIDS (PLHIV) at Baitumal Cakna Shelter Home under the umbrella of Komuniti Cakna Terengganu (KCT), a community set up by former drug addicts who were marginalized by their families and community. In both locations, #SunwayforGood Sinar Ramadan saw distribution of essential supplies and duit Raya to the orphanages and shelters, with MAF Red Ribbon Celebrity Supporters Chef Dato’ Ismail and singer Bob Yusof bringing festive joy while preparing some of Chef Dato’ Ismail’s iconic dishes.
