For Earth Day 2024, Newcastle University Medicine Malaysia (NUMed) Library hosted an exhibition on plastic pollution, themed "Plastic Vs Planet". The event highlighted the alarming fact that rivers and lakes serve as conduits for plastic waste from inland areas to the sea, significantly contributing to ocean pollution. NUMed staff and students were informed on actionable steps to combat plastic pollution, with a focus on practical solutions. Our informative infographic poster provided insightful sustainability tips, empowering individuals to take proactive measures in safeguarding our planet. Additionally, the NUMed community participated in a meaningful initiative led by the NUMed Environment and Sustainable Campus Committee (ESCC) featuring efforts to reduce carbon footprint through a video compilation featuring both staff and students. For those who missed out, the video link is available on the NUMed ESSC Facebook page: https://lnkd.in/gqRJbJtz Let's continue working together towards a cleaner, greener future for our planet. #newcastleuni #WeAreNewcastle #EarthDay
