  • Apple Maps has added five new guides.
  • The guides, called "Spend with Pride," highlight LGBT-owned businesses.

Apple Maps has added five more guides to support LGBT businesses across the world.

Apple has partnered with Intentionalist, an online guide to supporting small businesses and diverse local communities, to add five new guides to Apple Maps that support LGBT businesses. The guides, called "Spend with Pride," highlight LGBT-owned businesses in Seattle, New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and London.

Laura Clise, founder and CEO of Intentionalist, says that working with Apple provides an easy way for customers to find and support LGBT businesses in their community.

"Whether you're a local or a visitor to a city, it can be hard to find LGBTQ-owned businesses to support. Guides in Apple Maps are another tool to help people quickly discover great places to grab a drink, a bite to eat, or find a small gift while supporting the small businesses at the heart of our communities."

Osbaldo Hernandez, co-owner of Frelard Tamales in Seattle, says that being highlighted in a guide is a great opportunity for businesses that might not happen to be on Main Street.

"We are very excited to be part of the Intentionalist's LGBTQ-owned businesses Guide in Apple Maps because it helps us reach customers that otherwise would not run into our little hole in the wall. While we are near Seattle's popular Green Lake, we are not on the main drag of the neighborhood and this inclusion can help future customers discover our food. This is another example of how the Intentionalist continues their commitment to elevate independent small businesses across the city to bring customers information they can utilize to spend it like it matters."

Kamala Saxton, the owner of Super Six & Marination in Seattle, says that the guides are a great way to call attention to businesses that customers want to support.

"We are proud to be a part of Intentionalist's Spend with Pride in Seattle Guide, and we appreciate the work that Intentionalist does to connect a growing number of consumers to local businesses like ours. Intentionalist is a trusted resource and partner, and it's great to see their reach and impact extend to new platforms."
