The Tempe Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce three finalists for the 25th annual Business Woman of the Year Award. The award recognizes an individual's excellence in their chosen field and demonstrated leadership within the community. The award honors those who serve as a positive role model to others and are active in community and Tempe Chamber programs.
The finalists for the 25th annual Business Woman of the Year award are:
Cecilia Ashe
A native of Alamogordo, NM with forty plus years in the banking industry, Cecilia Estrada Ashe is currently Vice President/Chief Operations Officer for Landings Credit Union with locations in Tempe, Gilbert, and Chandler. She is part of the Executive Management Team, Asset/Liability Committee and oversees Branch Operations, Business Development and Investment Services.
Cecilia prides herself on being a community enthusiast of people helping people. Current and past affiliations include Board Member & Treasurer for The Centers for Habilitation (TCH), Diversity & Inclusion Committee for Tempe Union High School District, City of Chandler Economic Development Advisory Board, Tempe Chamber Women in Business Mentorship Program, 100+Women Who Care, Rotary International, Kiwanis, Maricopa Economic Development Alliance and Maricopa Parks, Recreation, and Libraries among many others during her career.
Jennifer Burwell
Jennifer Burwell is an accomplished leader, facilitator and speaker that specializes in helping teams within organizations achieve great results while doing it in a healthy way. She believes in creating positive impact through serving others. She is a Certified Behavioral Analyst and Certified in Emotional Intelligence. Jennifer is Vice President and Director of Programs and Operations at MAC6 where she leads workshops, and is also an Implementer of the Entrepreneurial Operating System®. She serves on the Women in Business Council as the Education Sub-Committee Chair.
Jennifer is an Arizona native and lives in Gilbert with her husband and 3 children, Jack (5), James (3) and Brooklyn (1). In her spare time, you can find her at the doughnut shop she owns with her family. She enjoys working with the team and building a great culture inside a food service business. She is passionate about ensuring emerging leaders have access to the skill training, mentorship and tools to prepare them for their future.
Alissa Serignese
Alissa Serignese is the Vice President for the ASU Alumni Association and the Office of University Events. In these roles, Alissa manages numerous engagement programs including ASU Leadership Institute; directs signature events including ASU Founders' Day and the Legends Luncheon; develops student engagement; and oversees the expansion of the alumni association's chapter network that includes 170 groups; University ground-breakings, special conferences and events.
Prior to her current position, she served as the Vice President Communications and Special Events for the Tempe Chamber of Commerce. In that role, she was responsible for managing the communications and special events department for the fourth largest chamber of commerce in Arizona.
Alissa's community involvement includes serving as a member of the East Valley Women; Tempe Leadership Selection Committee; Tempe Sister Cities; Tempe Chamber member and she previously served on the Board of Directors for the Mill Avenue Merchants Association; Tempe Chamber Ambassador Committee and the City of Tempe Sponsorship Review Commission. She is a graduate of Tempe Leadership Class XXV and also completed the Institute for Organization Management, a program of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Serignese received her bachelor's degree from the Hugh Downs School of Human Communication and her master's degree from the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College at Arizona State University.
