Being different made me Succeed
Rima Alameddine

Throughout my personal and professional life, I was always different from others. Family traditions, language, beliefs, views, plans…you name it! When everything could have gone wrong because I felt different, I decided to take advantage of it and transform it into an asset. I realized that being different made me unique; it made me succeed. Through my leadership, I make sure to find these “uniquenesses” in my team, so they can succeed as well.
1. Not everyone has the same view. Be respectful and kind. Be fair. Be confident without being arrogant.
2. You are a genuine leader when you understand the uniqueness in your team and how to leverage them to make everyone succeed
3. What makes you unique?

The Future of Work: How can you future-proof your leadership career?
Erika Amoako-Agyei

1. What changes are taking place in the world of work?
2. What skills will be in demand in the future?
3. What you can do to stay relevant in the future of work?
4. 5 Ways you can future proof your leadership career.

As an emerging leader, it is critical that you learn how to future proof your leadership career to ensure you stay relevant in the workplace of the future. We are in the Fourth Industrial Revolution and as a result, there is an incredible amount of change happening in the workplace today. Many jobs are becoming obsolete or changing because of automation and artificial intelligence. However, change in the workplace is nothing new. Though tenures at companies may have been longer in the past, roles were always evolving, demanding new skills to keep up. Even as technology spurs the economy in radically new directions, there are steps you can take to shape your leadership career and stay relevant.

In this session, I will share my personal career journey and the steps I took on the global business stage -- from big tech in the USA to Africa; from corporate leadership to entrepreneurship; from author to visiting university professor. I talk about the changes that are taking place in the world of work, why you need to up-skill to ensure you stay relevant, and how you can future proof your leadership career.
