Tim Martin (Vice President, Decommissioning at Acteon Integrated Solutions)

Tim Martin

Vice President, Decommissioning at Acteon Integrated Solutions

Tim has over 25 years of experience in offshore upstream and onshore midstream oil and gas operations and projects. Having spent near equal amounts of his career working for service companies and operators, Tim appreciates the challenges and opportunities in decommissioning from both perspectives. A passionate advocate of cost reduction in decommissioning that is carried out in a safe and environmentally responsible manner, he believes a transformation in approach is required from “business as usual” to deliver these outcomes, via technology and new commercial models that reward exemplary performance.

Tim has delivered many large projects including floating production unit decommissioning in the North Sea for Talisman Energy in 2007. He also developed a multi-client campaign model to deliver subsea suspended well abandonment in 2008 at a significantly reduced cost, whilst running a good abandonment business in Aberdeen. This model has now become the industry standard and demonstrates the value that can be gained by an alternative technical and commercial model for execution.
