Peter Mayavi is an accomplished fund raising and property development professional with over 15 years experience.

Peter has been with IHS Investments and IHS Kenya since September 2019 where has been instrumental in raising over 100m USD in funding for investment into Green Affordable Housing in Kenya.

He joined IHS Kenya from the Kenya Revenue Authority where he founded and headed the Construction and Property Development Division as a Chief Manager. The work at KRA included setting up the Division, property development spanning housing and commercial buildings for the Authority and property management for all the KRA Pension owned properties.

Peter also had a stint in Infrastructure Consulting, heading the local subsidiary of SMEC International as Country Manager and its head of Business Development.

His previous positions include Projects Manager for AMS Properties where he handled residential end-to-end developments, as well as overseeing commercial development. Peter has also held Project Management positions in the telecommunications sector as well as in Oil and Gas. Peter earned his BSc in Civil Engineering from Jomo Kenyatta University in 2008 and an MA in Project Planning and Management from the University of Nairobi in 2015.

He’s currently pursuing a PhD in Project Finance from the University of Nairobi. He is also a corporate member of the Architectural Association of Kenya as well the International Project Finance Association.

Wangeci Kanyeki is a Kenyan journalist with Standard Media Group with over ten years experience reporting on real estate, business and women stories. She is also a Media Relations Strategist at Brand Spark PR, passionate about building credibility for African brands where she connects clients to the right media. As part of her community support, she is Head of Communication at Mavuno Church overseeing content development and communication for 35 campuses in 10 countries in Africa and Europe.

She has a Master of Arts Degree in Communication (Media studies) from Daystar University and holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree (Hons.) in Communications. With research interest in media effects and Children, Adolescents and Media, she has published a children’s illustrative book Hunt for Elijah, and a book chapter; Media Convergence in East Africa-A case study on Standard Media Group published by Springer in book titled Digital Transformation in Journalism & News Media.
She has also published a book titled The Evolving Nairobi Street Names since the 1960s, a book which documents the history behind the Nairobi Street names since independence and most recent academic book chapter is on History of Children’s TV in Kenya since 1960s published by Peter Lang alongside 12 other countries.

She is a Board Member of the International Communication Association and Toast Masters International. She has been married to Willie Kanyeki for 23 years with whom she co-mentors married couples to build strong, resilient and joyful marriages. They have three uniquely gifted daughters Michy, Alisa & Muini.
