Terry Paul Bottinelli, J.S.C. was appointed to the Superior Court in 2011. Prior to that time he was a partner at Archer & Greiner, P.C. formerly Herten, Burstein, Sheridan, Cevasco, Bottinelli, Litt & Harz, L.L.C. of Hackensack.
As a practicing attorney, Judge Bottinelli had extensive litigation experience in state and federal courts in diverse areas of the law including large, complex, high-profile products liability, mass
tort, personal injury, governmental, corporate, employment and land use cases. He sat as a Municipal Court Judge for nearly 18 years and was Certified by the New Jersey Supreme Court as a Civil Trial Attorney. He was a Rule 1:40 Approved Mediator and was listed on the Superior Court Roster of Approved Arbitrators. He had been admitted pro hac vice by federal and state courts in matters venued in California, New York, Louisiana and New Mexico.
He was a long-time member of the Board of Governors of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America (now the American Association for Justice); President of the Bergen County Bar
Association; President of the Bergen County Bar Association Young Lawyers Division, President of the Bergen County Municipal Judges Association; Delegate to the New Jersey State Bar Association General Council; Board member of the Bergen County Bar Foundation, New Jersey State Bar Foundation and Hispanic Bar Association. He is the former Chair of the District IIB Ethics Committee and the District II B Fee Arbitration Committee and was appointed by the Supreme Court to serve as a Special Master in Ethics.
As a Superior Court Judge, Judge Bottinelli is currently assigned to preside over Family Law cases in Bergen County, is Past President of the New Jersey Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges and is a member of the Supreme Court Complementary Dispute Resolution
Committee. He is a frequent lecturer in Family matters for State Bar, ICLE, Inns of Court and Bergen Bar. He recently attained mandatory retirement age but is temporarily serving on recall.
