John Bray is a risk consultant and policy specialist with more than 35 years’ experience in Asia, Europe and Africa. His particular areas of expertise include: anti-corruption strategies for the private sector; business and human rights; and private sector policy issues in conflict-affected areas. His association with Myanmar dates back to the 1990s when, in addition to client assignments, he prepared a series of analytical studies on the country for the Royal Institute of International Affairs (Chatham House) in London. He is currently based in Singapore.

John’s pre-coup engagement with Myanmar included:
• Working with a development agency to develop a business integrity framework to guide its engagement with the private sector;
• Advising an international company on the human rights implications of its corporate engagement programme in Myanmar;
• Conducting a ‘mid-term review’ on behalf of donors for a Yangon-based NGO specialising in corporate responsibility.

Since the coup he has been working with a range of Control Risks clients with interests in Myanmar to help them plan their response strategies.

Nadav is a director for Control Risks’ Crisis and Security Consulting team in Greater China. Based in Shanghai, he is responsible for supporting all facets of business resilience service delivery as well as developing and enhancing internal processes and capabilities. Nadav spent nine years in Control Risks’ Washington DC office before transferring to Shanghai in early 2017. Since joining Control Risks, Nadav has delivered a wide range of business continuity and crisis management solutions, including running crisis management exercises for our commercial clients. Drawing on this experience, Nadav is helping companies across multiple sectors assess and respond to the current Myanmar crisis.
