The entity is aimed to support the University of Namibia’s medical students, by providing research materials and practical laboratory activities in the field of pathology and internship training.
NPS is duly registered with the Ministry of Health and Social Services and the Namibia Association of Medical Aid Funds (Namaf) while the Pathologist and the Technologist are registered with the Health Professional Council of Namibia (HPCNA).
NPS was established in 2015, opened its doors to the public in September 2016 and was officially inaugurated by his Excellence the Minister of Health Dr Kalumbi Shangula in October 2021.
We reserve the right to boast about our Decade+ of experience and the quality and experience in personnel which we have invested in over the years.
NPS is the only other Histology service provider in Northern Namibia with all the other service providers being based in the Capital City, of Windhoek.

It is not a secret that 60% of medical diagnoses depend on laboratory investigations and NPS is one of the essential service providers in our community and the nation at large.
We have identified the need for histopathology services in most parts of the country
and managed to establish a laboratory in the northern part of Namibia.
Since our inception, we have aimed to set up a pathology laboratory to help alleviate the redundancy of shipment of samples to distant facilities and ensure that our services are accessible to all citizens of Namibia irrespective of their geographical location.
Additionally, NPS aims to carry out Research and contribute to medical statistics of diseases, recommend counselling and treatment for patients, family members, relatives and community members who are at high risk of developing genetic or contagious/infectious diseases.
