Prof. Mushtak Al-Atabi

CEO & Provost, Heriot-Watt University

Professor Mushtak Al-Atabi is currently the Provost and CEO at Heriot-Watt University, Malaysia. 

His research interests include thermofluids, renewable energy, biomechanical engineering, engineering education, positive education and academic leadership. 

Professor Al-Atabi published three books, "Shoot the Boss​," "Think Like an Engineer​" and "Driving Performance​" and he has numerous research publications, awards and honours. He delivered two TEDx Talks, "Engineering the Language of Success​" and "Storytelling and Engineering a Lasting Change​"

He is a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (FIMechE), a member of the Executive Board of Vice Chancellors' Council for Private Universities Malaysia and a Director at the British Malaysia Chamber of Commerce. 

Professor Al-Atabi is an innovative educator who believes that the main goal of education is to mobilise individual's purpose into positive impact on the world. He pioneered Purpose-Led Education, CDIO (Conceive, Design, Implement, Operate) methodology and delivered the first MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) in Malaysia. 

Professor Al-Atabi is highly sought after keynote speaker and trainer. He trains executives from Multinational Corporations including banks, energy companies as well as universities. His impact statement reads "I am a storyteller. My purpose is to inspire others to tell more empowering stories about themselves and the world we live in."

Prof. Dr. Kamila binti Ghazali

Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and International), University of Malaya (UM) 

Professor Dr. Kamila Ghazali is the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and International) at University of Malaya. In this current position, she is looking into changing the academic landscape of UM to provide students with a more broad based flexible education. She has more than 20 years' experience holding positions in various capacities at the university, national and international levels. She was previously the Associate Vice-Chancellor (International) at the university, Director of International and Corporate Relations (ICR), Deputy Dean at the Institute of Graduate Studies, Chief Quality Auditor of UM, and Deputy Dean at the Faculty of Languages and Linguistics. She is on various editorial boards of journals and international advisory committees. She is also the Chairman of the ASEAN University Network-Disability and Public Policy thematic network (AUN-DPPnet), a program that is fully funded by the Nippon Foundation, Japan.

Kent Tan 

Campus Engagement Lead, PwC Malaysia

Kent currently leads campus engagement activities and is also a recruiter with PwC Malaysia since 2014. He recruits for PwC Consulting line of services and Risk Assurance services while overseeing graduates recruitment and internship.

Kent migrated to Guyana, South America after he has completed his UPSR. He then lived in Guyana for 4 years and moved on to Ohio, USA where he continued his studies in Beavercreek High School. After graduation, Kent started working with his parents on a family restaurant business for 5 years before moving back to Malaysia.

He started off his career in Guess, FJ Benjamin back in Malaysia as their Sales Executive for 1 year then later continued on his journey to study his Bachelor Degree.

Kent graduated with a Bachelor (Hons) in Business Administration from UCSI University and started embarking his journey as an intern in PwC Malaysia and has since been with the firm.

Kent loves meeting new people and in his spare time, he loves to travel to beaches where he is able to just spend time underneath the sun and ocean.

Jack Wright

Student Engagement Officer, Student Engagement & Sport, Academic Services, Royal Holloway, University of London

Jack is Student Engagement Officer at Royal Holloway. Jack's main responsibilities within the Student Engagement department include the Peer Guidance scheme, a peer-to-peer support network for new undergraduates starting university, and the Royal Holloway 100 panel. 

The RH100 is a large focus group made up of student panellists across Royal Holloway. The Panel helps to ensure that a range of views are considered in relation to developments at the College and on campus. As a leading student voice mechanism within the Higher Education sector, a number of other institutions have looked to the RH100 when establishing similar student panel projects.
