Dr. Melissa Smith
Head of Anesthesia & Pain Management at the Schwarzman Animal Medical CenterDr. Melissa Smith is a board certified diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Anesthesia and Analgesia. She completed her bachelor of science at Duke University with a major in chemistry, following which she earned her doctor of veterinary medicine from Cornell University, and went on to Boston University School of Medicine where she obtained a PhD in pharmacology. Her clinical training includes a rotating internship at Angell Animal Medical Center in Boston, followed by a residency in anesthesia and analgesia at the University of Georgia.
