Dr. Alexandra van der Woerdt
Service Head of Ophthalmology at the Schwarzman Animal Medical CenterDr. van der Woerdt is board certified by both the American and European Colleges of Veterinary Ophthalmologists. She came to AMC in 1994 and currently heads our Ophthalmology Service. Dr. van der Woerdt also serves as the director of Postgraduate Education at the Animal Medical Center. Dr. van der Woerdt has received several honors and awards, including the Clendenin J Ryan Memorial Teaching Award in 2001 and was named Veterinarian of the Year in 2006 by the New York City Veterinary Medical Association. She received the award for outstanding service to veterinary medicine from the New York City Veterinary Medical Association in 2015.
