Jenny is a business education teacher from Morris Area High School in Morris, MN and a champion for her rural students and community! Jenny was spotlighted earlier this year through our partners at Minnesota Rural Education Association (MREA) and Rural Schools Collaborative (RSC). We're excited to celebrate Jenny Maras, and rural education at this year's 2023 National Forum to Advance Rural Education! Join us in-person in Chattanooga or online on Nov. 16-17. |

Trinity Alps Unified School District Board of Trustees passed a resolution to recruit, retain, and honor all Military Veterans that work for the District with a yearly stipend. The stipend will be paid on Veteran’s Day each year. |

Their earn-and-learn program includes on-the-job training and paves the pathway to licensure within a year, making it faster and easier for you to make the transition to teaching math.
This program is asynchronous and typically takes about 12 months to complete and is perfect for non-licensed employees with a Bachelors degree. You will be provided a success coach from MathTrack to make sure you are fully supported in your path to licensure. Click the link here to apply! |

The Fellows Program awards innovative rural teachers within each of RSC’s Regional Hub areas, each year, to carry out a place-based education project. Grants are awarded to projects that will take place in the current school year. |

This fall, the U.S. Department of Education invites high school CTE teachers to enter the Your Place in Space Challenge, a CTE Momentum challenge to create new solutions for space and inspire students to envision careers in the space industry. |

From illustrators to food scientists, students to submit designs for a product or service that contributes to space missions or exploration, the challenge will help students identify pathways into space careers. |
|
|
Teams may pursue designs of their choice or find inspiration from one of f our suggested areas of exploration — covering topics such as space debris, the International Space Station, space travel, and the environment. Submissions are due by 6:00 p.m. ET on October 30, 2023. Up to 10 winners will receive $5,000 each and earn in-kind prizes such as space-related classroom equipment or supplies, site visits to space company campuses, and interactions with high-profile leaders in the space industry. The Smithsonian American Art Museum is in search of contractor to support the grant-funded Creating Portraits of Community program. The position is full-time and remote or hybrid work is possible. |

The selected contractor will manage and facilitate a project committed to engaging rural students and teachers through community portraiture and collecting oral histories. Travel to rural schools in Kansas and Kentucky is anticipated.
