VARC EVENTS
We had a very active winter with over 50 fun school presentations for grades K through 7 – Great to see so many children engaged with nature!

We were thrilled to have so many incredible artists join us for our first bird drawing class hosted by Bea Martin. It was a well-spent morning of community and creativity and was so well received that we will be adding a course in the fall! So keep your eye open for that later in the year.

Banding season is now upon us, and we are always looking for volunteers! If that sounds intriguing to you, be sure to apply with us here

VIRTUAL BIRD MONITORING & BANDING WORKSHOP
(May 7th and 8th)

Perfect for people with little to no bird banding experience. However, those with existing knowledge will benefit enormously from the classroom sessions, building solid technical foundations for ageing and sexing North American landbirds in the hand.

The classroom sessions will be held via Zoom on Saturday and Sunday May 7th and 8th.

Workshop participants will have the option to attend two field session trips to Colony Farm banding station for practical field sessions anytime over the next 12 months subject to Covid-19 restrictions.
