University of Exeter: Scientists and Industry to Discuss Energy Transformation at COP26
Leading researchers and representatives of the energy sector will meet at COP26 to discuss transforming the energy system to help deal with climate change.

The panel will discuss the challenging path towards a climate-resilient, low-carbon system that contributes to net zero targets and can cope with future changes including more extreme weather.

At a meeting hosted by the European Commission, representatives of National Grid and Energy UK will discuss the challenges faced by the sector and the areas where new scientific advice is needed.

The researchers, including scientists involved in IPCC reports and the UK’s national Climate Change Risk Assessment, will provide the latest evidence and insights on how this transition can be achieved, and reflect on future research directions.

Glasgow Caledonian University Joins 1050 Education Institutions Pledging to Reach Net-Zero by 2050
Glasgow Caledonian University has joined 1050 universities and colleges from 68 countries pledging to half their emissions by 2030 and reach net-zero by 2050 at the latest.

The pledge, impacting more 10 million students, was announced today (Thusday 28 October 2021) at the Times Higher Education Climate Impact Forum, illustrating the education sector's leadership ahead of COP26.

Universities and colleges across the globe have signed up to the Race to Zero for Universities and Colleges, an initiative led by The Alliance for Sustainability Leadership in Education and Second Nature, with support from the UN Environment Programme (UNEP).

We started off the week with University of Wolverhampton, represented by Frazer Roberts who covered computer science related subjects.

Followed by environmental science courses at University of Exeter with Jim Myton, and last but not least, a personal statement writing workshop with University of Suffolk, with Mike Macias and Kevin McDonnell 📚

Thank you to Ibu Desi Purnama for the opportunity to revisit SMAN 70 and rekindle our relationship with students as well as teachers.🌟
