New Year's Drinks Penang 2022 |
On 19th January, the BMCC made it’s inaugural stamp in the Northern Region of Malaysia with a networking event at Eastern & Oriental Hotel, Penang. Once an important trading hub with British colonial buildings, Penang has developed rapidly over the years to become one of Malaysia’s vital economic state with a high-income economy with focus on manufacturing, construction and services. The close-knit event was organised to connect and establish healthy business relationships with like-minded organisations as well as to discover how the BMCC is able to strengthen British-Malaysia ties within the state. With this in mind, the BMCC looks to establish a relevant presence to facilitate bilateral-trade and investment in such sectors by addressing members’ value proposition and business matchmaking. The BMCC successfully invited and gathered over 60 participants from various corporations and agencies and they were given the opportunity to rub shoulders and exchange insights with our distinguished Board members, representatives of British High Commissioner and Penang government state officials. It was a wonderful night of networking with in attendance H.E Charles Hay (High Commissioner of UK to Malaysia), Abrar A. Anwar (BMCC Chairman), Jennifer Lopez (BMCC CEO), Mark Arthun (BMCC Northern Region Chair), Debbie Clark (Country Director of Trade, British High Commission) and plenty more.
We would like to thank all participants involved in this landmark milestone of ours and we look towards your presence at the next ones! Following up from this event, the BMCC is proud to announce that we will be looking to spread our platform and presence into other regions in Malaysia in the future - thus, we hope for your continuous support, participation and presence!
