BMCC Sterling members had the privilege of participating in a virtual roundtable on 2 December 2020 with the Minister of Finance Malaysia, YB Senator Dato’ Seri Tengku Zafrul. This roundtable is part of the BMCC efforts to provide an avenue for our members to dialogue with policymakers and highlight any challenges in doing business in Malaysia.

BMCC Executive Director, Jennifer Lopez, moderated the roundtable followed by brief remarks from BMCC Chairman, Abrar Anwar, who emphasised the need for the industry to embrace digital trade, sustainable financing and the importance of public and private sector collaboration. Representatives of sectors such as education, oil & gas, finance, healthcare and tourism then shared their feedback to the Minister on the Budget 2021 announcement, concerns on current business & investment policy impacting the industry and seek support in collectively conveying those feedback to other Ministries as well.

The BMCC would like to thank all members who participated in this roundtable. We will continue our support in positioning Malaysia as a preferred destination for trade and investment and look forward to hosting such forums in the future.
